The magic of autumn: the vineyards are dressed in red

Autumn comes and weather cools down, but not only the temperature changes, so does the landscape.

Benissa is dyed red

Going round the vineyards of Benissa in autumn is a real pleasure to behold. After the harvest, the vineyards experience a change in colour and the green gives way to an extensive range of yellows and reddish tones. The landscape becomes an incredible reddish canvas.

The route to Molí del Quisi

One of the trekking trails where you can enjoy the red vineyards is the route to Molí del Quisi.

A route of 8.7 km (about 3 hours) that runs through the Muscatel grape fields, where you can see the Pou d'Avall, l'Ermita de Santa Ana and its washing place, the Molí del Quisi, a hydraulic construction of the 15th century declared a building of local relevance, and the spectacular Puente del Quisi.

The Muscat route

The 20 km Muscatel MTB route is intended to meet the vineyards. It links Benissa with the Vall de Pop along agricultural roads, away from the road. In this easy itinerary and with little slope we visit the towns of Xaló, Senija and Lliber. Making this route will allow you to see the fields and vineyards of the Vall de Pop (to which Benissa also belongs).

The route “Camins de pedra i aigua”

Another route through which you can not only see the vineyards dyed red but also the “pedra en sec” (dry stone, typical construction of the walls) is the camins de pedra i aigua” (in Valencian language, stone and water paths). This itinerary connects all the municipalities of the Vall de Pop and allows to know the ethnological heritage derived from agricultural and rural architecture and linked to the use of water from the Xaló or Gorgos river. This route lasts 5:30h and covers about 19 km, being of very low difficulty.

We hope you like and enjoy our landscape!
